About Us:
The Scandinavian Stipend Foundation was founded in 2015 after I had determined that there was a lack of scholarships for international students, particularly those from the Scandinavian region. Reflecting on the love of Scandinavian culture, languages, and way of life, SSF was formed in order to financially help Scandinavians studying in the United States and Americans who study in Scandinavia.
I currently operate the foundation as a volunteer-based hobby; moreover, I self-fund the stipend, making stipend availability contingent on current financial trends.
Mission and Goals:
Purpose: The purpose or mission of the foundation is to promote a positive relationship between the United States and the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden via a stipend (similar to a scholarship) program; each year a stipend is awarded to one to two applicants. More information about our stipend may be found by navigating through this website.
Stipend Goal: The goal of stipend is to provide financial assistance to a current or prospective Scandinavian student whom is studying in the United States and has a general interest in the U.S. The financial support is to assist with the recipient's academic or career goals, including but not limited to: research projects, immigration, emigration, and temporary re-location.
Organization Status:
The Scandinavian Stipend Foundation is not a non-profit organization. Instead, all stipend funds released to the awardee(s) comes personally and directly from me. Additionally, SSF accepts funding from its consultants and/or donors. SSF removed its LLC status in March 2024, and is currently in the DBA process.
Stipend Amount:
The goal of the foundation is to provide the most amount of money to one or more students each year. Currently, the foundation promises a minimum of $500 to one student per year. The amount of the award and the number of awards is contingent upon the current fiscal year.
