Current Stipend Program:
About: Thank you for your interest in a stipend from the QComm Education and SSF. The stipend program operates on a school calendar, not the traditional year calendar; therefore, our stipends are offered based on an academic year (from August-May). The current scholarship will have two application periods: Fall (August 11, 2025-November 30, 2025) and Spring (January 12, 2026- April 30, 2026), meaning there will be two award periods- one in December and one in May. This academic stipend (similar to a scholarship) is a "pool-based" stipend, which mean that applicants will apply and submit their application into a "pool" of other applicants. Pool-based application processes usually last over the course of several months in order to provide an opportunity for several qualified individuals to apply. Between one and three people will be selected for each application period, with a max of three people for each term. The application for the Fall 2025 term opened on August 11, 2025.
Stipend Amount: The stipend amount is based on the needs of the research the applicant is conducting. Additionally, the amount could be influenced by the academic, career, and personal profile of the applicant. Stipends range from $500.00 USD to $2,500.00 USD. The stipend amount is non-negotiable after an applicant is selected. Stipends are released to selected applicants based on the date noted on the application by the applicant.
